Vedanta Aluminium's big social initiative, 4,000 hours of commitment, brings smiles to millions of faces
Balconagar, December 5, 2025 /// On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, Vedanta Aluminum, India's largest aluminum manufacturer, announced its largest employee-led social initiative to date. Under this initiative, 1,800 employees collectively contributed over 4,000 hours to community service, benefiting over 700,000 people in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh.
This initiative reflects the company's approach to "community development," which is a key part of Vedanta Aluminum's work culture. Employees are not limited to their work but also actively contribute to social work. Vedanta Aluminum consistently encourages its employees to volunteer. Employees have gone beyond their workplaces and led several transformative activities in areas such as health, education, livelihoods, environment, and women's empowerment. These initiatives include tree planting, pond cleaning, child education, youth skill training, and health and blood donation camps in rural areas. All these efforts will have a long-term positive impact on society.

Several of the company's initiatives are gaining national recognition. In Korba, Chhattisgarh, women trained through livelihood programs are now showcasing their products at various exhibitions, transforming local skills into small businesses. In Lanjigarh, Odisha, sports training has led to young archers participating in national competitions. Traditional Saura and Dhokra art has received a revival, providing new markets for artisans. Various health camps organized in Odisha and Chhattisgarh have provided health services and awareness to thousands of people. Digital education and labs have been introduced in schools in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Through all these programs, the company has promoted holistic development in its operating areas.
Vedanta Aluminum is further strengthening its connection with the community through continuous community development work. What initially began as a service by a few individuals has now evolved into a year-long initiative, where everyone is working together to bring about change in the areas of education, health, livelihoods, environment, and women's empowerment.
