Public participation frees 20 percent of children in the district from malnutrition

Balod, December 292025 //// The results of the Mission God Abhiyan, launched by the Balod district administration to ensure adequate availability of nutritious food and proper care for severely malnourished children and bring them back to normal, have surprised everyone. 20.80 percent of severely malnourished children in Balod district have been freed from malnutrition. This campaign has proven to be a highly ambitious and effective initiative towards making the district malnutrition-free.

Under this campaign, the district administration has entrusted public representatives, officials, employees, social organizations, and people from all sections of society with the responsibility of ensuring adequate funding and other necessary arrangements for proper nutrition and care for the district's severely malnourished children. It is noteworthy that under Mission Adoption, the regional MP, the three MLAs of the district, the District Panchayat President, Vice-President, all prominent public representatives of the district, Collector Smt. Divya Umesh Mishra, and all senior officials of the district administration, as well as all officials of the district, were given the responsibility of caring for these children.

Over 4.48 lakh rupees deposited for additional food allowance

Under this campaign, which ran from September 10th to December 10th in Balod district, all adopting public representatives and officials deposited a minimum amount of 500 rupees to ensure the availability of nutritious food and other essential food items for severely malnourished children. As a result, over 4.48 lakh rupees have been received for additional food allowance for malnourished children.

Public representatives adopted 300 children

It is noteworthy that under this campaign, which ran for a period of three months in the district from September 10th to December 10th, a total of 300 severely malnourished children were adopted by public representatives. Of these, 53 children have fallen into the general category. Similarly, a total of 184 children have been adopted by district administration officials, of which 51 have currently fallen into the general category. Additionally, 180 children have been adopted by the general public, of which 36 have fallen into the general category. As a result of providing proper care and nutritious food to these children in the district, the number of severely malnourished children in Balod district has decreased significantly. Collector Mrs. Mishra, praising the remarkable success of this campaign in Balod district, described it as a crucial initiative to free the district's children from malnutrition. She commended the active participation of public representatives, officials, employees, social workers, and all sections of society, and expressed her gratitude to all for their significant participation in making this campaign a success
